Are you looking to share your love of music with enthusiastic students, within a secondary school that has well-resourced Music facilities and regular opportunities for popular performances? If the answer is yes, we have the opportunity for you!
Start date: November 2023
Contract length: Full-time, initially until July 2024
Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire (BB4)
School: Ofsted graded “good” Secondary school
The successful candidate will be aided into ensuring the Music provision is of exceptional facilities by immediately gaining access to:
ü State of the art facilities – including a fully refurbished and dedicated Music space for 2023, with new Mac suites, 2 soundproofed teaching classrooms and dedicated practice rooms.
ü Opportunities for regular performances – highly popular annual school events.
ü Passionate students – Music is a popular subject and a number of their students have gone on to study Music beyond school.
ü Excellent resources including a full class set of ukuleles, a samba kit and djembe drums.
Responsibilities:
ü To teach the classes allocated, and provide a well-planned, challenging and purposeful learning environment for all students.
ü To support and carry out policies and practices to promote positive student behaviour and achievement in Music.
ü To set homework on a regular basis and mark student work in line with faculty policy.
ü To assess, monitor, record and report on student achievement in line with Academy and Curriculum Area policy, including attending parents’ meetings.
ü To assist in the identification of student special educational needs, and support the work of the Learning Support Team, including participation in the writing and review of individual education plans.
ü To share in the development of course outlines, syllabuses, and schemes of work in Music.
ü To make effective use of student performance data, and student and staff target-setting; and provide relevant information to the Head of Faculty, Raising Standards Leaders and Senior Leadership Team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
