About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Year 2 team. You will play an important role in helping pupils develop key skills, build confidence in their learning, and make positive progress throughout Key Stage 1.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and targeted intervention sessions.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and active engagement in lessons.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with primary-aged pupils.
  • The ability to adapt support to meet individual learning needs.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Confidence supporting pupils within Key Stage 1.
