Are you a confident and motivated Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum? Do you enjoy helping children build confidence, develop core skills and achieve their full potential?

A friendly and supportive primary school in Preston is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from October. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a welcoming school community, providing classroom support while making a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across the classroom, helping pupils engage with lessons and make progress in core subjects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing general classroom support across Key Stage 2.
  • Supporting pupils with Maths, English, Science and other curriculum areas.
  • Working with small groups to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Assisting individual pupils who require additional academic support.
  • Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Monitoring pupil engagement and promoting independence in learning.

In addition to general classroom duties, there are several pupils within KS2 who require additional support. As such, experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), or a willingness to do so, would be highly beneficial.

The successful candidate will:

✅ Have previous experience working within a primary school setting.
✅ Possess a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
✅ Be confident supporting pupils in Maths, English and Science.
✅ Have experience working with small groups and intervention sessions.
✅ Be patient, proactive and adaptable in their approach.
✅ Be comfortable supporting children with varying learning needs, including SEN.
✅ Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
