Are you a passionate and energetic Sports Coach looking to make a real difference in young people's lives?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Sports Coach to work full-time within specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools from October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience supporting children and young people through sport, fitness, mentoring, or coaching.

As a Sports Coach, you will use physical activity as a tool to engage students, build confidence, promote positive behaviour, and support emotional wellbeing. You will work closely with teaching staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions.
  • Support students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
  • Promote teamwork, resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage participation and engagement in learning through sport.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff.
  • Experience working as a Sports Coach, Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, or similar.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
  • Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to adapt to different situations.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Full-time role starting in October.
  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact in SEMH education settings.
  • Support from a dedicated consultant throughout your placement.

If you're enthusiastic about using sport to inspire, motivate, and support young people who need it most, we'd love to hear from you.
