Thinking about becoming a teacher but want to gain some real classroom experience first?
Our two-year Salaried Teacher Training Programme at a supportive secondary school in Cambridge gives you the chance to earn a salary, work in a school and develop your skills before moving into formal teacher training.
You’ll spend your first year as a Cover Supervisor, working with pupils and experienced teachers. In your second year, you’ll progress into teacher training and work towards your PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Year 1 – Gain Experience
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise lessons, support pupils and get to know how a secondary school works. You’ll build your confidence, develop classroom management skills and work alongside experienced teachers.
Year 2 – Train to Teach
Once you’ve built up your classroom experience, you’ll move into a trainee teacher role. You’ll plan and teach your own lessons, assess pupil progress and work closely with a mentor while completing your PGCE and working towards QTS.
This could be a great opportunity if you’re a graduate, considering a career change or already have experience working with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
