As a Secondary Music Teacher, you will support KS3 and KS4 students in developing practical and theoretical music skills within a structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Deliver practical and theory-based lessons
Support performance and composition
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Manage behaviour and lesson structure
Encourage participation across all abilities

The classroom environment
Lessons are organised and controlled
Students understand expectations
Practical work is focused
Behaviour remains consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Music or strong musical background
Confidence delivering practical lessons
Strong classroom management
Good organisation

What success looks like
Students participate confidently
Progress improves over time
Lessons are productive and structured

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with music or performance backgrounds
